Elsa Alberca

Elsa's optimism is infectious - she is confident that with a little help and some time, she will be able to become the person she wants to be. Previously, she worked in a poultry plant to support her husband in earning the income they needed for the family. Elsa plans on using the knitting skills she’s learning in the program to someday open up a small knitting shop in her community.

FAVORITE PART OF PERU

Cajamarca is a city in Peru that I love. There are still strong Incan traditions like making delicious guinea pig and spicy potatoes.

FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY

Playing with my older brothers when they didn’t have classes. I also fondly remember messing around in the kitchen with my mom.

DREAMS FOR YOUR FAMILY

That my daughter can go on to higher education and find a good career like an engineer.
