Our Certifications

Standards You
Can Verify

Doing better should mean more than making promises. Our certifications provide independent, third-party verification of how we source materials, support the people who make our clothing and operate our business.

Explore the standards behind KNOWN SUPPLY below.

Fair Trade Certified™

Made Fair. Made Together.

Clothing is made by people, and their well-being matters. Fair Trade Certified™ factories are independently audited against standards for working conditions, worker rights, environmental responsibility, and economic opportunity. KNOWN SUPPLY partners with Fair Trade USA to bring that accountability to the clothing we make.

For each Fair Trade Certified™ product sold, a premium contributes to a worker-controlled Community Development Fund. Workers decide together how to invest these funds, from healthcare and education to projects that address local needs. Look for the Fair Trade Certified™ designation on individual products to see where this program applies.

GOTS Certified Organic

A Higher Standard
for Organic Fibers.

Organic fiber is the starting point—not the whole story. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) sets requirements for how certified organic fibers are processed into textiles, including chemical inputs, wastewater treatment, working conditions, and traceability. Independent certification checks that the relevant requirements are met through the certified processing and trading stages.

For our GOTS-certified styles, that means looking beyond the cotton itself to how the textile is made and handled. GOTS is a textile-processing standard, not a farm certification. Check each product’s details for its fiber composition and certification claims; a company’s certification does not automatically cover every item it sells.

Regenerative Organic Certified®

Better Cotton Starts
with Living Soil.

Regenerative Organic Certified® cotton starts with organic farming and adds requirements for soil health and social fairness. Practices such as cover cropping, crop rotation, and reduced soil disturbance help care for the land where cotton grows, while the standard also addresses the people doing that work.

We use this cotton in select ReGen styles, and KNOWN SUPPLY appears in the Regenerative Organic Alliance’s brand directory. For textiles carrying ROC claims, traceability connects the cotton to certified farms, and brand licensing governs approved product claims. Look for the designation in each product’s details; it does not apply to every fabric or style in our collection.

B Corp Certified

Our B Impact Score: 96.9

Being a responsible business goes beyond the materials in a garment. B Corp Certification looks at the company behind it, including how it is governed and how its decisions affect workers, communities, customers, and the environment. KNOWN SUPPLY has been a Certified B Corporation since July 2019.

Our published B Lab profile reports a B Impact Score of 96.9, above the 80-point qualification threshold shown for that assessment. The profile makes our results across these impact areas public. This is a company-level certification—not a certification of every product or supplier—and gives us a broader framework for accountability as our business grows.

Why Clothing
Certifications Matter

Certifications make it easier to understand what a claim covers and who has checked it. Some standards apply to materials or manufacturing, while others assess a business as a whole. Together, they offer different perspectives on responsibility—not a blanket promise that every product carries every certification.
