Apiyo Kevin

Due to financial problems and the insecurity in the region, Kevin had no choice but to drop out of school. Although her and her family were not abducted or killed during the war, they had been forced to move into an internally displaced person's camp where her and her family had become dependent on government aid organizations for their basic necessities. When asked how KK Uganda had impacted her life, Kevin burst out in tears of joy and said, There is a great change in my life that I can’t explain.

DREAMS FOR FUTURE

I plan to build in my ancestral land, educate my children and also raise animals.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT NORTHERN UGANDA

The prevailing peace in the region has brought a lot of joy in my life. There is no more hiding in the bush and the people can now move freely to villages. It has also brought a lot of development.

WHAT MAKES CROCHETING ENJOYABLE

Crocheting has greatly helped me to forget my husband’s death. Besides, it has provided me with an employment opportunity that has drastically improved my income.
