Aciro Betty

When war in northern Uganda intensified, family problems started to surface in Betty’s home. Life became more difficult when her family would sleep in the local church because of the fear of the rebels. Fortunately, her and her family members were never abducted, but the lack of a stable home and income caused a lot of financial stress. KK Uganda gave her, the sole family provider, the resources and tools necessary to support her family financially.

DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE

I want to save part of my money which I earned through crocheting to buy a piece of land and stop renting huts.

WHAT MAKES CROCHETING ENJOYABLE

Crocheting has helped me so much. My children are now in school and I no longer do casual work for all of my basic needs.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT NORTHERN UGANDA

I like northern Uganda because of its beautiful scenery and fertile soil. The people are hospitable even during the prolonged war which went on for over twenty years.

MESSAGE TO KK intl.

Thank you for the great work. I pray that God bless you and me so that I can show love by working diligently through the skills I have acquired.
