Now, Time To Rebuild
News about the fires in Los Angeles dominated the media throughout the first part of 2025. The devastation — brought to us from firsthand social media accounts to aerial footage — was hard to fathom.
Being located in Southern California, many of us on the KNOWN SUPPLY team were consistently receiving calls from family, friends, and collaborators to check in on us (thank you!). However, we were not near the path of these fires and there wasn't much to report from our end.
That being said, the degrees of separation are few when it comes to knowing those directly impacted and we (like many others who live nearby) were immediately asking about how to support. It was inspiring to see people step up and attempt to meet needs in whatever capacity they could, while inviting the broader community to get involved. This is community. This is HUMANITY.
At KNOWN SUPPLY, we've been asking those same questions, and we felt like the time for us to help is now — in the rebuilding process.
News of the fires containment has provided for a sigh of relief, but it is little more when witnessing the destruction that occurred. So many questions remain about how things will get rebuilt, or whether they will at all in some cases.
For us, we have a heart for the small businesses impacted, and we have a way we'd like to help...
We're asking you to nominate a small business that was directly impacted by the fires so we can work with them to create custom merchandise (for FREE) and support their re-building efforts.
It's a small gesture, but we believe in the power of community to raise awareness and support for those that have been hit the hardest. A t-shirt, a hat, these can be symbols of hope. They can provide necessary revenue. And they can represent a community choosing to be identified as more than the events that happen to them.
